Summer only! Take a special bus to the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival, known as one of Japan's three major fireworks festivals!
Guaranteed seats and guaranteed departure!
The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is one of the most famous and spectacular in Japan. Held on the banks of the Shinano River in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, it attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. Three-foot-tama fireworks (super-large fireworks with a diameter of about 90 cm) can be launched up to 600 metres high, and this is one of the few places in Japan where this can be done. The explosion diameter is nearly 650 metres, creating a stunning display.
The fireworks officially start at 7.20pm and finish at 9.10pm, with designated seating for groups and cushioned seating in front of the designated seating area in venue B.
The next day, go to the "Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza" and do some shopping! The estimated stay is two hours. Departure times are arranged according to arrival times the day before. Located close to the south exit of JR Karuizawa Station, it is one of the largest resort outlet shopping centres in Japan and has become one of the most popular shopping and leisure destinations in the suburbs of Tokyo! If you don't have enough time, you can leave the group and return by Shinkansen at your own expense.
Solve three major problems in one trip: accommodation, transport and tickets!
◆Fireworks Festival Tour: What to Bring & Important Notes◆
To ensure a comfortable experience at the fireworks festival, we recommend bringing items ①–⑥ below. Please check carefully. Also, please note that it takes about 30–90 minutes on foot from the parking lot to the viewing seats. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
① Mats: Only blue tarpaulins are available for the spectator group seats. We recommend that you bring your own cushions for extra comfort. (Chair is prohibited.). ② Rain poncho and waterproof shoes: Please prepare a rain poncho in case of sudden rain. A compact, full-body poncho is very convenient for watching the fireworks. The venue can become muddy in wet weather, so waterproof shoes or boots are also recommended. ③ Protection against temperature changes: The venue is outdoors with no roof. Please bring a hat, sunscreen, and drinks to protect yourself from the sun and heat. At night, temperatures can drop to around 20°C, so a light cardigan or jacket is recommended. ④ Flashlight: It can be difficult to see after sunset, so a light source is useful. Some portable toilets may not have lighting. ⑤ Pocket tissues and wet wipes: Some portable toilets may not have toilet paper, so it’s reassuring to bring your own. ⑥ Plastic bag for your shoes: At the viewing area, you may need to remove your shoes and sit on a blue sheet.
Please note: The use of umbrellas is prohibited in the viewing area. When using a camera tripod or selfie stick, please keep it at a height that does not obstruct others’ view (no higher than seated eye level). Standing up to take photos is also not allowed.
The fireworks officially start at 7.20pm and finish at 9.10pm, with designated seating for groups and cushioned seating in front of the designated seating area in venue B. Due to the large number of people at the end of the event, please take care when returning to the parking lot bus.
We are expected to arrive at the hotel at 2 am. Due to the unpredictable nature of leaving the parking lot and the potential for traffic on the day, an exact time cannot be estimated at present.
