Explore the iconic Mt. Fuji and Hakone resort area on a convenient day tour by private car from Tokyo with personalised pick-up from your hotel in Tokyo's 23 districts! You can choose from a standard plan with a Japanese meal or a plan without a meal to customise your own journey on the spot.
Your car will depart from your hotel whithin Tokyo's 23 wards. You will easily get a sense of the size of Tokyo as the car leaves the crowded skyscraper district, passes through endless residential areas, and suddenly finds itself surrounded by green mountains.
Our first destination (the order of visits may be changed due to operational reasons) will be the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji, located at 2300 m above sea level and reached after a drive on the winding Subaru Line Panoramic Road. Weather permitting, you will be able to view the surrounding countryside and even see the summit of this sacred mountain!
After this visit you will enjoy your lunch (meals are not included in the price of the "basic" plan. Choose and pay for what you like) at a restaurant that your guide will suggest after discussing it with you. Alternatively, you can buy the Lunch Package and we will do the thinking for you.
You will continue to the Ōwakudani Volcanic Area, an area of secondary volcanic activity that will remind you that Japan is a country full of volcanoes. Fumaroles and sulfataras will be visible in all directions. Here you can taste "kurotamago" (black eggs boiled in sulfur water)!
After your time at Ōwakudani, take the Hakone Ropeway down to Ashi Lake for a spectacular view of the area. The cruise across Lake Ashi is included, so you can enjoy the scenery not only from above, but also from the water. And the car return to your hotel.
If the Hakone Ropeway and the Hakone Pirate Ship are unable to operate due to any circumstances, the tour will be rerouted to one of the following alternative destinations: Hakone Komagatake Ropeway, Hakone Lake Ashi Boat Cruise, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise on Lake Kawaguchi, Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, Mishima Skywalk, Odawara Castle, Hakone Venetian Glass Museum, Hakone-en Aquarium, Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Checkpoint, Hakone Shrine, among the others.

- Lunch inclusion: Meals are not included in the price of the basic packages. Choose what you like and pay directly at the restaurant (the guide's meal is usually covered if you choose a standard budget restaurant (under 2000 yen)). However, if you would like to eat in a more upmarket restaurant, please bear this in mind if you would like your guide to sit with you.
- In the same way, the Lunch add-on covers a budget of around 2000 yen per person (plus 500 yen of arrangement fees per person, included at the time of the payment) (drinks excluded), so the venue will be chosen, and paid by the guide from a list of different options you can choose from, depending on the time of lunch and the area you are visiting at that time.
