It is renowned for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses, characterized by their steep thatched roofs designed to withstand heavy snowfall. Shirakawa-go, along with Gokayama, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting visitors for its amazing scenery and cultural heritage.
Kamikochi, The excellent landscape of Nagano
- Kamikochi is a scenic mountainous area in the Northern Japan Alps, known for its stunning natural beauty. It features clear rivers, lush forests, and majestic peaks, making it a popular destination for hiking and nature enthusiasts. The area is particularly famous for its picturesque views of the Hotaka Mountain Range and the iconic Kappa Bridge. Kamikochi is a protected area within Chubu Sangaku National Park.
