The Highlight
In this course, you will be on the trail for a short period of three days, experiencing a variety of landscapes. Along the way, you will be able to experience the beauty of the local landscape in each of the four seasons. The course is not only about the scenery, but also about interacting with the local people and tasting local products through meals.
The Experience
Course Difficulty ★★★☆☆ DAY1. Hiking Distance: about 6.5㎞ Total Incline 556m Decent 647m Hiking time: about 5hrs Trail type: unpaved trail with stairs and some paved areas.
- Meet at Miyako Station and transfer to Kitayamazaki cliffs. Today we will hike the most challenging section of the Michinoku Coastal from the Kitayamazaki cliffs to the Aketo area. Stay overnight in Tanohata area. DAY2. Hiking Distance: about 13㎞ Total Incline 450m Decent 590m Hiking time: about 5hrs Trail type: unpaved trail
- Depart hotel. Transfer to the Itsukushima Shrine in Kuji area and hike the trail from there along the rugged coast passed the Samrai Ishi Rocks to the Kuwata Port. Transfer to Tanesashikaigan in Hachinohe and enjoy a retreat style camp experience with a BBQ dinner Stay overnight in tents at the Tanesashi Lawn. DAY3. Hiking Distance: about 8㎞ Total Incline 160m Decent 160m Hiking time: about 4hrs Trail type: unpaved trail and walking paths.
- After an early morning yoga experience, hike from the campgrounds to the trail head at the Kabushima shrine in Hachinohe, Transfer to Hachinohe station from here. Finish at Hachinohe station at around 15:00pm

Day 1
- Include: Lunch, Dinner
- 09:00Meet at Miyako Station and transfer to Kitayamazaki cliffs. Today we will hike the most challenging section of the Michinoku Coastal trail, from the Kitayamazaki cliffs to the Aketo area. During the trail,lunch Bento Box. 14:40 At Tsukuehama Banya Salt Making Experience. Michinoku Shiokaze Trail Hiking (Tsukuehama Banya - Hotel Raga-so) 17:00 Arrive at the Hotel and check in. Kaiseki meals at the hotel using a variety of local ingredients. Stay overnight in Tanohata area.
Day 2
- Include: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- At the Hotel Buffet with plenty of local ingredients
- 08:15Depart hotel. Transfer to the Itsukushima Shrine in Kuji area and hike the trail from there along the rugged coast passed the Samrai Ishi Rocks to the Kuwata Port. 10:00 Michinoku Shiokaze Trail Hiking (Itsukushima Shrine - Samurai Beach - Kuwabata Fishing Port about 330 minutes) 16:00 Transfer to Tanesashikaigan in Hachinohe and enjoy a retreat style camp experience with a BBQ dinner. Stay overnight in tents at the Tanesashi Lawn
Day 3
- Include: Breakfast, Lunch
- Breakfast is served in the campground <Menu: Healthy Breakfast Western Style>.
- 07:00Early Morning YOGA 08:30 After an early morning yoga experience, hike from the campgrounds to the trail head at the Kabushima shrine in Hachinohe. Michinoku Shiokaze Trail Hiking (Tanesashi Coast - Otsuka Coast - Ashigezaki Observatory - Kaburashima Shrine (about 230 minutes) 14:00 Transfer to Hachinohe station Finish at Hachinohe station at around 15:00pm
