Ganryujima Anybody who has studied the martial arts, or who has any interest in Japan will know the name of Miyamoto Musashi, the greatest swordsman in samurai history. This is an uninhabited island with an area of about 103,000 m2 in the Kanmon Strait.

Kanmon Pedestrian Tunnel A unique 780-meter-long, two-tiered undersea tunnel that connects Honshu (Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi) and Kyushu (Moji, Fukuoka). Opened in 1958, it is part of National Route 2, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to cross beneath the Kanmon Strait.
