Enjoy a refined kimono experience with professional dressing and hairstyling inside the historic Former Kaneyu Ryotei, a nationally registered cultural property in Noshiro.
This plan includes kimono rental, professional dressing, and hair styling by an experienced beautician. The experience takes place at Former Kaneyu Ryotei (Kaneyu), one of Noshiro City’s most iconic landmarks. Built using high-quality natural Akita cedar during the city’s timber industry peak, this former ryotei is now registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.
After being dressed in kimono and styled by a professional beautician, enjoy taking photos inside the elegant wooden interiors and beautifully maintained garden, or step out for a graceful stroll around town in traditional attire. Photography props such as folding screens and traditional umbrellas are available to help you capture beautiful, Instagram-worthy photos. (Rental of photo props is included in the plan, except for the “Casual Urawashi Set.”)
Noshiro is also known as a basketball pilgrimage site, with nearby attractions including museums, monuments, wall art, and spots related to the high school said to have inspired a famous basketball-themed film. These locations are within walking distance, making them perfect to explore while wearing your kimono.
A special student plan is also available at a discounted rate. Student ID verification is required after booking. Whether for photos, sightseeing, or a memorable cultural experience, this plan offers a unique way to enjoy Noshiro’s history and charm.
