Thông tin trải nghiệm

What you will encounter in Miyota is far more than just three separate activities.

Adjacent to Karuizawa, Miyota offers a distinctive landscape where people have long developed a deep connection with nature. Escorted by your private guide and vehicle, you will embark on an intimate exploration of this enduring relationship. This narrative unfolds through three distinct elements: ice, natural materials, and gastronomy.

Your journey begins on the ice. Through the strategic sport of curling, you will learn to “read” the ice—adapting to its shifting conditions. It is a unique, physical introduction to the broader concept of reading and harmonizing with nature.

Next, you will step back in time at the Asama Jomon Museum. Here, you will connect with ancient Jomon culture and the enduring landscape of Miyota. Discover how Japan’s earliest inhabitants ingeniously utilized the natural materials around them, and channel that ancient wisdom through a tactile, hands-on craft experience.

The journey culminates in a thoughtfully curated culinary experience. Chef Matsumoto—whose career includes eight years at Chez Tomo in Ginza, Tokyo, and serving as Executive Chef at Yukawatan, Hoshino Resorts in Karuizawa—engages deeply with the local ingredients of Miyota and Nagano. His course menu expresses the enduring relationship between food, nature, and people, echoing traditions from the Jomon era to the present day. As you savour each meticulously crafted dish, you are invited to reflect on the day’s journey and your own connection to the natural world.

Throughout the day, your dedicated guide acts as your storyteller, seamlessly weaving these experiences together. Through engaging conversations and expert insights during your transit, the day’s discoveries transform into one cohesive, unforgettable narrative.

What remains at the journey’s end is not simply the memory of curling, crafting, or dining. It is a new perspective on Japanese culture—revealed through the timeless wisdom of people who have long lived in harmony with their environment by reading nature, making use of its materials, and cherishing the passage of time.
