~Information on 6 Hot spring mountain Anrakuji Temple~ "Hot spring mountain Anrakuji" was named by Kobo Daishi because it had a spring that was effective against all kinds of illnesses. It is a temple with many attractions, including the principal image of Yakushi Nyorai, Kobo Daishi's first history in the Kongoho Worship Hall, and Sakamatsu that protects against evil spirits.It is also the first of the 88 temples in Shikoku, and has been popular with pilgrims for 400 years.Please heal the fatigue of your travels while thinking about history at the sacred springs filled with the blessings of Yakushi Nyorai.
~Information on Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgramage~ The Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgramage is one of the few circular-shaped pilgrimages in the world. It includes 88 “official” temples and numerous other sacred sites where Kukai (Kōbō Daishi) is believed to have trained or have spent time during the 9th Century. If walked, the entire route is about 1,200 kilometers long which allows one to experience the abundant natural surroundings of Shikoku and opportunities to mingle with locals.
