The elegant appearance has been protected as it was since the Edo period. It is said to be "small Kyoto of Hida" and it is protected as a preserved area with important traditional buildings. You will find a number of houses with roofs shaped like folded hands. You can feel the Japanese history and it creates a fantastic atmosphere to walk around!
Are you in the magnificent city of Nagoya and you want to see what lies beyond it? The former is found in the Hida region in the Gifu Prefecture. Takayama may be considered a city, but it’s not the kind that people are accustomed to. The houses and the buildings are all traditional, especially in its Old Town. You can go for a walk around the area and admire the architecture and its historical landmarks, like the Higashiyama Walk and the Takayama Jinya. You’ll be given some free time to have lunch in the city, so make sure to bring some cash and try out dishes made using top grade Hida Beef. Shirakawa-go, on the other hand, is known for the numerous gassho zukuri houses that are lined up all around it. These houses are over a hundred years old and their design is said to look like the clasped hands of monks in prayer. If you’re looking to see the rural wonders of Japan, then going on this trip is a must.

- 08:10Meet at Nagoya Station (Starting at 8:10, the staff will hold the EASYGO sign and wait for the guests.)
- 08:30Depart for Takayama by bus,one stop at service center. (08:30~11:00)
- 11:00Takayama (11:00~13:00) visit old streets of Takayama, where you can have lunch there at your own expense
- 13:00depart for shirakawago by bus 1H (13:00~14:00)
- 14:00Shiroyama Tenshokaku ovservatory (Our buses cannot take you to the observation deck. Those who wish to go can take a shuttle bus for a fee or walk.)
- 14:30Shirakawago(14:30~16:00) free walk in Shirakawa-go
- 16:00Back to Nagoya station (16:00~19:00)
- 19:00Ends at Nagoya Station
