특색

Customized experience museum for the entire town Zentsuji City in Kagawa Prefecture is the birthplace of Kobo Daishi Kukai, a great figure in Japanese Buddhism known to all Japanese people. Born 1,250 years ago, Kukai achieved enlightenment by training in the magnificent natural surroundings of his hometown of Shikoku. Even now, more than 1,200 years after his time, many worshipers who admire Kukai come from all over the world to follow the pilgrimage path he left behind. At five temples related to Kukai in Zentsuji City, you can experience content that allows you to face yourself and hone your five senses, with the themes of Mandara Temple - tactile sense, Shusshaka Temple - visual sense, Koyama Temple - auditory sense, Zentsuji Temple - taste, and Konzo Temple - olfactory sense.

설명

Scent is an essential part of Buddhism, such as the incense used by monks to purify themselves and the incense sticks burned in temples. The scent of pomegranate incense, which was specially made in honor of Emperor Narashi's mother, is popular at Konso-ji Temple.

While listening to explanations of each fragrance by a monk and a perfumer, you can taste each fragrance one by one and mix it to your liking.

Depending on your preference, you can choose the base scent of "pomegranate'', the symbol of Konkura-ji Temple, or "lotus'', the symbol of Buddhism. While learning about the efficacy and meaning of each scent, we will make special use of the guest hall, which was the quarters of General Maresuke Nogi, the famous general who led the 11th Division of the Imperial Japanese Army, about 120 years ago. In the living room, which faces a beautiful garden where colored carp swim, items related to General Nogi are still carefully stored, and you can see the splendid dragon ceiling paintings and tiger sliding door paintings along with the related items.
