Điểm nổi bật

Customized experience museum for the entire town Zentsuji City in Kagawa Prefecture is the birthplace of Kobo Daishi Kukai, a great figure in Japanese Buddhism known to all Japanese people. Born 1,250 years ago, Kukai achieved enlightenment by training in the magnificent natural surroundings of his hometown of Shikoku. Even now, more than 1,200 years after his time, many worshipers who admire Kukai come from all over the world to follow the pilgrimage path he left behind. At five temples related to Kukai in Zentsuji City, you can experience content that allows you to face yourself and hone your five senses, with the themes of Mandara Temple - tactile sense, Shusshaka Temple - visual sense, Koyama Temple - auditory sense, Zentsuji Temple - taste, and Konzo Temple - olfactory sense.

Thông tin trải nghiệm

At Mandara Temple, you can experience a special Japanese sweets making experience and a traditional tea ceremony. First, you will make nerikiri while learning techniques from local Japanese confectionery artisans. Nerikiri is a high-quality Japanese confectionery made from a paste made by straining and kneading white kidney beans. The beauty and wishes of each season are expressed in small sweets that can fit in the palm of your hand, and are served with the heart of hospitality so that invited guests can enjoy them with all five senses. In this experience, you will make a nerikiri made of pine and other materials based on the concept of wishing for longevity, in honor of the blessings of Mandara Temple.

For the tea ceremony, we will prepare a classical tea ceremony seat. The teacher, dressed in a beautiful kimono, will teach you how to make and serve tea, as well as the highlights of the tea room. Enjoy the tea and sweets you made yourself while admiring the garden that can be seen from the tea room.
