The area has flourished as a hanamachi since the Edo period (1603-1867), and even today has the largest number of ryotei (traditional Japanese-style restaurants) and okiya (traditional geisha houses) in Tokyo. Geishas can be seen heading for the tatami rooms at dusk. Two geishas will be available.
