This is a must-do activity for every Sumo- and Japan-Lover!
The sacred Japanese national sport of Sumo has a long history, and admirers all over the globe. However, for many people (Japanese included) it is difficult to grasp the deep meaning of the fights themselves, as well as the rituals involved. Here former professional Sumo wrestlers will teach all there is to know about this sport in English, and visitors can even face them in a (playful) duel. After lunch Tonkatsu Bento(pork cutlets)+ChankoNabe(Japanese-style hotpot made by the wrestlers themselves)watching the show , the sumo experience and the phote taking. This activity will allow participants to get a deep understanding of the Sumo sport, and to interact with wrestlers from close-up.
Itinerary ~2024~
12:40 Meeting at the event location.
12:45 Open Meals will be served in order from those who need them. (Lunch menu : Japanese pork cutlet and Chanko Nabe,Ice cream,Oolong tea or water)
13:20 Event start～ Sumo wrestling demonstration by former sumo wrestlers (basic movements, tori demonstrations, etc.) About 30 minutes
13:50 Challenge to former sumo wrestlers You can try on a sumo mawashi and a sumo costume.
14:10 Photo time (You can take pictures for each family or group.)
14:25 Question time for former sumo wrestlers We will answer any questions!

- Several people from the audience will be picked to dress in a funny sumo suit (don't worry, you will not need to take off any clothes) and challenge the former stars in a duel. Photo time will end this session. Note: Not every visitor will be chosen to duel with the sumo wrestlers.
- Vegetarian and halal meals are available upon request. ※Vegetarian Menu→Vegetarian Chanko＋Vegetarian Set Menu
3.All the seats are assigned according to your booking date which means that your seat is already fixed by the time you arrive. It is not first come, first served. We are grateful to receive so many bookings from around the world and would like to have as many guests as possible to share this experience. To make this happen there might be a possibility of having your table shared with other guests. Also if you are a big group, we might not be able to fit you together in one table.
4.If you have any dietary requests, please let us know at the time of booking or at least one week prior to the date of your participation. We cannot accommodate requests for dietary restrictions or menu changes on the day of the event.
