The Experience

Byodoin Byodoin Temple was founded in 1052 and has a long history. It is a significant cultural heritage of Japan, with many national treasures and important cultural properties. Byodoin's Phoenix Hall is a representative example of Heian-period Buddhist architecture, characterized by its elegant design and exquisite carvings. The carving of the phoenixes on the roof is particularly impressive. Inside the Phoenix Hall are precious Buddhist statues and murals, including a statue of Amida Nyorai. These are considered masterpieces of Japanese Buddhist art. The garden surrounding the Phoenix Hall is a harmonious blend of ponds and stone gardens, offering seasonal views. Horyu-ji Temple Horyu-ji Temple, built in 607, is the oldest wooden structure in Japan and is said to be the oldest wooden structure in the world. The five-story pagoda and Kondo in particular are known for their beauty. Horyu-ji Temple is associated with Prince Shotoku, who played a major role in the introduction and development of Buddhism. It is an important place for understanding Japanese history and culture. Horyu-ji Temple has vast grounds, and visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll in a quiet environment. It is an ideal place to calm your mind. Tea ceremony Experience In this experience, a tea master prepares tea in front of you and teaches you how to drink matcha and eat tea sweets. You can enjoy the tea ceremony while viewing the various seasonal views of the garden on the grounds. Please enjoy the Japanese tradition through tea. Mt. Wakakusa Wakakusa offers a spectacular view of Nara City and the surrounding mountains. The view at sunset or on a clear day is especially exceptional. There are easy hiking courses that can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced hikers alike. Hiking is a great way to get in touch with nature and refresh yourself.
