The Experience
This snowshoe trekking tour takes place at the foothills of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Shirakami-Sanchi in Akita Prefecture. Walking across soft, powdery snow is a truly special experience—you might even get the chance to dive into the snow! Keep an eye out for animal footprints as you explore the quiet winter forest.
During the tour, enjoy a relaxing break with roasted marshmallows and freshly brewed coffee (or cocoa) made using pure Shirakami spring water. A knowledgeable Shirakami guide will carefully explain how to wear and use snowshoes, making this tour safe and enjoyable even for beginners.
Photo data taken during the experience will be given to you as a souvenir. An optional pick-up service is available from Noshiro City or within Fujisato Town, so even those unfamiliar with snowy road conditions can participate with confidence.
Please note that depending on snow conditions, the tour location may change to another area such as Mt. Moriyoshi. In such cases, an additional gondola fee may be required.

- After a brief lesson on how to wear and walk with snowshoes (or traditional kanjiki), enjoy a snow hike through the winter forest. Walk freely, play in the snow, jump into deep powder, and look for animal footprints. During a break, enjoy hot coffee (or cocoa) and roasted marshmallows.
