Arita Town, Saga Prefecture is the birthplace of Japanese porcelain, about 400 years of history and tradition are still alive in the town. The Arita Pottery Market is held from April 29th to May 5th every year and always crowded with about 1.2 million people from all over the country. The annual ceramics fair counts about 450 shops that stretch from JR Arita Station through the center of town.
Hasami Spring Pottery Festival features booths from about 150 porcelain producer and shops. You may find good Hasamiyaki for a very reasonable price here! Some of shops offers about 30-40% discounts!!!
