说明

Experience a profound journey through the Kurikoma Ancient Road, a historic path with over a thousand years of history that connects Miyagi and Akita Prefectures. Originally used as a natural trail by the Emishi people, metalworking clans, mountain ascetic hermits (Shugenja), and traditional hunters (Matagi), the route preserves a stunning natural landscape. Highlights include pristine beech forests and the "Millennium Kurobe," a giant tree estimated to be over 1,000 years old. This plan allows you to fully immerse yourself in the history of mountain worship and seasonal beauty—from alpine flora to vivid autumn colors—by staying at local accommodations before and after your trek.

Day 1: Arrival at Kurikoma Mountain Resort

  • Accommodation: Stay at Heilsam Kurikoma, a mountain resort located at an altitude of 650m in Kurihara City, Miyagi.
  • Transfer: Free shuttle service is available from Kurikoma-Kogen Station with an advance reservation.

Day 2: Kurikoma Ancient Trail Historical Trekking (Japanese & English Supported)

The Kurikoma Ancient Trail is a historic route where people and nature have intersected for over a thousand years. Used since ancient times by the Emishi, mountain ascetics, and Matagi hunters, and later developed during the Edo period as an important transport road, the trail preserves much of its original form. Trek through pristine beech forests, pass ancient stone markers, and experience the seasonal beauty of Mount Kurikoma while immersing yourself in the rich history and nature of this timeless path.
