Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) Begin your journey at Umi Jigoku, renowned for its stunning cobalt blue waters that resemble the sea. This hot spring, with a temperature of approximately 98°C, was formed over 1,200 years ago from volcanic activity. You can enjoy the beautiful surroundings, including a traditional Japanese garden and a greenhouse featuring the largest demon lotus in Japan.
Kamado Jigoku (Cooking Pot Hell) You can witness a variety of geothermal phenomena including bubbling mud pools and steam vents. This site is famous for its unique "Drinking Onsen," where guests can taste the mineral-rich hot spring water. Kamado Jigoku also offers a chance to indulge in local delicacies like hell-steamed pudding and soft serve ice cream.
Ideyu-zaka: The Heart of the Steam Town Ideyu-zaka, or "Gushing Spring Slope," is the nostalgic main street of Kannawa, where time seems to have slowed down. This traditional cooking method preserves the flavors and nutrients of the ingredients, resulting in a delicious and healthy dining experience.
