The train running between Higashi Akasaka and Hirokobe Station runs alongside the rows of cherry blossom on a small embankment for a while, so you can view the cherry blossoms from inside the train! River cruising by traditional boat with cherry blossom Ogaki, rich in history, is known as the “City of Water,” and approximately 100 cherry blossom trees are planted along the river that runs through the center of the city. Boat rides on this river are a special experience that you cannot normally have, as you can view the cherry blossoms in full bloom while swaying in a small traditional boat!
Sansyu Seki Hamono Museum Seki City is known as a town of Japanese sword and blacksmithing since the Kamakura period. The clean water, good river clays, abundant coal, and strategic location helped Seki as a steel forging technical town. Now Seki is one of the largest cutlery-producing areas in the world, along with Solingen in Germany and Sheffield, England. You can experience the rare opportunity to hear directly from swordsmiths about the process of sword-making. It will take you back to the samurai era!
Old streets of Gujo Hachiman The old streets, designated as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, is lined with traditional houses from the Edo period (1603-1868), and the lifestyle of the time remains strong. Walking along the streets, you can feel the local lifestyle that has remained unchanged since the Edo period and the traditional Japanese four seasons.
