Glover Garden is Japan's oldest Western-style wooden building, where you can appreciate the atmosphere of foreign settlements in Nagasaki during the late 19th century when the port was opened. Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown is one of Japan's three major Chinatowns, where you can taste Nagasaki's specialty foods such as Castella cake, Nagasaki champon, and sara udon. During the Chinese Lunar New Year period, lantern festivals and other activities are held.
Mount Unzen is a famous active volcano in northern Kyushu. Although volcanic eruptions have long ceased, the Unzen Hot Springs near Mount Unzen continue to flow abundantly. It is a renowned hot spring area in Japan. At Unzen Jigoku (Unzen Hell), you can experience the steaming heat rising from the earth and relax your body and mind in the foot baths.
