The Experience
The chopstick-making experience at Hashiya Ichizen offers a unique and personalized craft activity. Here's what you can expect:
- Raw Material You'll start with a 1cm square piece of cherry wood grown in Oita Prefecture.
- Crafting Process Use a small knife and sandpaper to shape your chopsticks. Customize the length and shape according to your preference.
- Personalization Once the basic shape is complete, you can add designs or text using a burn pen.
- Finishing Touches After your session, the workshop will apply a waterproof coating to protect your chopsticks. Send the finished product to your home in about 3 weeks.
