Hamanako Lake Sightseeing Cruise
Ryoshimeshi Fishermen's simple, hearty local dishes and meals prepared quickly onboard or at port using freshly caught seafood.
Hamanako Lake Hamanako is famous as a brackish lake where seawater and freshwater mix, and eel farming is thriving there.
Gillnet fishing A traditional coastal fishing method practiced since ancient times, involving the vertical placement of strip nets in fish migration routes to capture fish by impaling their heads or gills in the mesh (gillnets) or entangling their bodies or fins (tangle nets).
Ebisuki fishing An experiential fishing activity where you lure out shrimp and crabs moving at night using boat lights and scoop them up with nets.
Eel farm A facility where glass eels are raised in structures such as plastic greenhouses.
The tour will proceed even in rainy weather. However, for the agricultural experience, Lake Hamana sightseeing cruise, and gillnet fishing activities, if conditions such as thunderstorms are deemed dangerous, the relevant activities will be canceled or replaced with alternatives. The route may be altered depending on sea conditions and navigation circumstances. For the gillnet fishing activity, you will observe fishermen hauling in pre-set gillnets. You are not permitted to touch the nets. Please strictly follow the instructions of the local staff.
If the first day falls on a Tuesday, swap Marumasa Kawai Shoten with Unagi no Tenpo. This will delay the time between Tsugumi and hotel check-in by 15 minutes.
Please note that the departure time for Ebisuki fishing may be delayed by 30 to 60 minutes depending on the tide. In such cases, the entire evening schedule—including the lobby meeting, dinner, and return to the hotel—will be adjusted accordingly. Transportation during this time is scheduled to be provided by standard taxi. The definitive schedule will be provided in your final itinerary.
If the first day falls on a Tuesday, we will swap Marumasa Kawai Shoten with Unagi no Tenpo. As a result, the hotel departure time will be 10:45.
Please wear comfortable clothing that can get a little dirty or wet. ※When boarding the boat, please wear clothing suitable for wind, rain, and sea spray, such as a raincoat or windbreaker, depending on the weather.
